Main contractor McLaren were instructed by joint developers Roxhill and Port of Tilbury to provide a mega-shed complex for Amazon at Tilbury including a 22m high-bay warehouse with over 185,000 sqm of internal floor space and an adjacent 1,700 space multi-storey car park (MSCP) to cater for the staff of 3,900 shift workers. This substantial Precast order of nearly £10 million included; three separate five and six storey Precast access cores for the office building incorporating eight lift carriages and stair flights; a further six Precast cores were also provided within the MSCP; a total Precast frame solution for the 1,700 space MSCP; 49 euro dock levellers with insulated dock surround wall panels for the warehouse; and 26 TY3 bridge beams for a vehicle access. This project further strengthens Concasts long-standing relationship with McLaren for whom we have successfully completed numerous large scale projects including Waitrose Magna Park, Asda Avonmouth and Asda Rochdale.
