The Offsite Construction Show took place on the 11th and 12th of October 2017, at Excel London.
AMAZON UK is opening a new premises at the UK’s largest distribution centre closest to the M25, at London Distribution Park, Tilbury. There will be almost 4,000 new jobs created at the new Amazon facility. The London Distribution Park, which consists of over 70 acres, has been developed by a joint team consisting of Roxhill and the Port of Tilbury, it is conveniently located adjacent to the M25 and has easy access to this major Port.
AH Knight International specialise in chemical and material analysis, and have operations in more than 35 countries. The Concast Precast Group have been appointed to provide the precast concrete structure for their new headquarters comprising of a new head office and a high precision laboratory.
The Danish giant, Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor (BWSC) owns and operates power plants in the UK, Surinam, Lebanon, and the Cayman Islands. BWSC have commenced works at the Tilbury Green Power biomass project which includes a 40MW waste wood-fired power plant on the banks of the River Thames in Essex. The Concast Precast Group were contracted to design, manufacture and install precast concrete structural units, at the £190m energy-generating waste incinerator.
Leading wholesaler Costco continues to expand, it has just opened its new new flagship store which measures an impressive 140,000 square-foot. Concast designed, manufactured and installed the precast concrete structural elements over the summer months. This new Costco facility is located next door to the home of British football, Wembley Stadium.
BAM were awarded the contract by developer JCD to construct The Capitol, a 14,250sqm retail and office development at Grand Parade in Cork City’s main shopping district. Due to the restricted nature of this city centre brown field site, BAM wanted the programme benefits of completing the access cores in precast concrete. Concast were appointed to design, manufacture and install the three precast cores.
Concast has completed a major contract for delivery service group Hermes. The 2,500sqm warehouse with a 95,000sqm external yard forms part of developer Roxhill’s Rugby Gateway development with adjoining facilities which are occupied by H&M and DHL. The latest phase supplied and erected by Concast comprises of almost 200 dock levellers along with ancillary service yard structure.
