VolkerStevin are reconstructing berths 201 and 202 to form a new quay in preparation for the arrival of the next generation of ultra-large container carriers at the Port of Southampton.
The initial £80m phase involves the construction of a 500m quay wall with a 16m draft. Concast supplied 248 separate Fender and Coping Units ranging in weight from 17T to 48T. All exposed surfaces were produced using Zemdrain controlled permeability formwork liner.
